Arrow Child & Family Ministries serves to advance the wellbeing of children, families, communities, and culture by providing an array of services and engaging the local church to promote Christian responsibility and commitment to strengthen family life. Founded in 1992 by a former foster child who grew up in a loving, Christian foster home, we strive to give every foster child that same opportunity, to experience the unconditional love and commitment of a Christian family, and the support and encouragement of a church community.
A Houston-area native, Heather began at the University of Houston before settling in at Texas A&M, receiving her Bachelor of Science. She worked as the office manager of her family’s manufacturing business throughout high school, college and beyond before becoming a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first child. Within the last year, Heather has re-entered the workforce, becoming a member of the Human Resources team at Arrow. She now holds a PHR certification and is an integral part of the recruiting and on-boarding processes.
Heather has been married for 18 years to Gordon Lester, class of 1996 (BBA Finance) and 2002 (MBA). They have a 9-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter. She enjoys volunteering at church, with her children’s schools and activities, and is a registered official with USA Swimming as well as a board member of the National Charity League Wildflowers Chapter.
